
The Faculty of Dentistry at Khon Kaen University proudly achieved outstanding success at the 8th International Dental Physiology Quiz (IDPQ 2024-2025), held on January 18, 2025, at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. Representing the university were four talented second-year dental students:
1. Mr. Dassakorn Tawornsuttisak
2. Mr. Piyanun Limpatpanee
3. Mr. Natchayapakorn Khampa
4. Mr. Thanat Buasuwan
Under the supervision of Dr. Sawita Kimsuksri as the team advisor.

Mr. Dassakorn Tawornsuttisak: ACE SCORER – 5th Place
The IDPQ, organized by the University of Malaya Dental Society (DENSOC), aims to deepen participants’ understanding of human physiology and its application in dentistry. This year’s event brought together 22 teams from across Asia, including participants from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Khon Kaen University students achieved remarkable recognition at the competition, earning two prestigious awards:
Mr. Thanat Buasuwan: ACE SCORER – 4th Place
Mr. Dassakorn Tawornsuttisak: ACE SCORER – 5th Place
The competition focused on essential physiological topics relevant to dentistry, such as hemostasis, pain perception, mastication and swallowing physiology, oral mucosal immunity, and calcium homeostasis. It also served as an outstanding platform for dental students from various countries to exchange knowledge and build international networks.
