In this year, there were totally24 teams from 24 internationally recognized universities from around the world in this competition. The team of KKU students won the Outstanding Team Award on Professional Knowledge Contest with the highest score.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Supanigar Ruangsri, the advisor of KKU student team, revealed that “I’m happy with and proud of the 6th year students receiving the outstanding award for dentistry knowledge with the highest score among 24 teams. I didn’t want to put pressure on these students to win the award, but I want them to prepare and try their best. It can be beneficial when they have to take National License Exam in January. I’d like to express my gratitude to all lecturers helping these students to prepare for the 3rd “Guanghua Cup.” Besides dentistry knowledge, clinic and laboratory skills were evaluated, and there’re some skills our students had never practiced before. However, the award they received could reflect their teamwork, good communication, and critical thinking skill which need to be trained from the 1st to 6th year. What students have learned also came from the dedication of dentistry lecturers, both pre-clinic and clinic, together with activities based on curriculum and extra curriculum so that dentistry graduates will have skills for the 21st century. This competition and widen students’ view, provide intercultural experience, and train them to officially be dentists in the next full months. Thank you the Faculty of Dentistry, Sun Yat-sen University for giving an opportunity to dentistry students from Thailand to participate in the competition and offering the support on participation.”

Miss Panumat Intamon said on behalf of the team that she was excited when it came to professional skills evaluation. Something was totally different from what she had learned, but the team tried their best. It was invaluable experience. Moreover, she was nervous when it was the competition that all participants had to answer the questions quickly. Thank to her team members for helping each other and all lecturers who always guided the team with no pressure, they were more confident to do their best. Then the world knew that KKU Dentistry was second to none.

Mr. Nattawat Achawanantakul said it was great experience to join the competition. Thanks to Khon Kaen University and all dedicated lecturers, the team could bring the award back home. This competition was like a knowledge exchange event that widened students’ perspective. The competition was challenging and fun. Moreover, something like theory, operation techniques, and equipments were different from what they have experienced. It was a great event that younger students should participate if it was held again in the following year.

The Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University would like to congratulate on the success.
